וַתֹּאמֶר הָאָתוֹן אֶל־בִּלְעָם הֲלוֹא אָנֹכִי אֲתֹֽנְךָ אֲשֶׁר־רָכַבְתָּ עָלַי מֵעֽוֹדְךָ עַד־הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה הַֽהַסְכֵּן הִסְכַּנְתִּי לַעֲשׂוֹת לְךָ כֹּה וַיֹּאמֶר לֹֽא׃

Dixit asina: Nonne animal tuum sum, cui semper sedere consuevisti usque in præsentem diem? dic quid simile umquam fecerim tibi. At ille ait: Numquam.
Y el asna dijo á Balaam: ¿ No soy yo tu asna? sobre mí has cabalgado desde que tú me tienes hasta este día; ¿ he acostumbrado á hacerlo así contigo? Y él respondió: No.
But the donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not the donkey you have ridden all your life until today? Have I ever treated you this way before?” “ No,” he replied.
